Director of Operations

SLC Director of Operations Laura worked in Educational Fields for 20 years, teaching youth, training teachers, and writing curriculum. She was President of a CA teacher’s union, a Lead Union Negotiator and a National Writing Project presenter. She was a fellow for Harvard’s “Project Zero,” an honoree for the Random House teacher of the millennium, and a consultant for Bay Area Science Integration. Despite this, her humanitarian trips to Russia, Fiji, Africa, and South America motivated her to focus all of her time on humanitarian work.

President

Brent has been involved with Eagle Condor since his family first went on an Expedition in 2007. He is a CPA and has managed his own tax practice for over 25 years. He was born in Montana, raised in Utah, served for 2 years in France, but says his heart has landed in Peru. He and his wife Annette live in Sandy, Utah and are the parents of four daughters (three son-in-laws) and have five grandchildren. All of his daughters have been on Expeditions and two of them volunteered for summer internships with Eagle Condor in Peru and Colombia. His favorite pastime, other than his grand kids, is seeing how Eagle Condor is helping disadvantaged people and making their lives better.

Medical Liaison

Jan has been involved with ECH for 14 years serving as president, executive director and presently as member of the executive committee, now with a focus as Medical Liaison coordinating spine/cranial expeditions. Born and raised in Springville, Utah, he served a mission for the LDS church in New Zealand, attended Brigham Young University where he received his BS and MS degrees.   His professional career of 38 years was with the LDS Church Educational System as a seminary and institute instructor and administrator. Nineteen years he spent at the Orem Institute on the campus of Utah Valley University where he was the institute director for 9 years. 

Jan and his wife Becky of 52 years live in Lehi, Utah. Becky has been a longtime volunteer with Mothers Without Borders Foundation as well as with Jan at Eagle Condor. They have 5 children and 17 grandchildren, with 9 of those children having been on humanitarian expeditions, several multiple times. He has been to Peru, Ecuador, Borneo and Cuba with Eagle Condor and participated in 46 different expeditions. He brings a wealth of experience and love for those wonderful and needy people in these countries. 

CPA

Scott has over 23 years of Medicare reimbursement experience in the healthcare industry working in a “big four” CPA firm, as the Controller for a chain of healthcare providers, and as founder and principal of Pinnacle Healthcare Consulting. As a CPA and business owner, Scott provides sound guidance and wisdom to all ECH projects and programs.

Al is our resident renaissance man. He was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering at Purdue and a Real Estate Development degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Al owns and manages rental properties and investments in the SLC area, he also works as an Inner City Project Missionary. In the past, he served a service mission in Peru, and worked with the Boy Scouts as a leader and trainer for 25 years. He and his wife, Ann, have raised six children and currently have 15 grandchildren.

Rob Moore

Rob received a BA degree from the University of Utah in accounting and is currently the VP of Coldwell Banker Commercial. Rob is known as “that guy” who can solve difficult challenges with creative and innovative ideas. He has many years of experience in putting together successful and exciting projects from the ground up. Rob’s experience and professionalism make him a trusted colleague, friend, father, and humanitarian.

 Keith Johnson 

My wife Lauri and I will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in September this year! We have been blessed with 6- children, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way.

I have been involved with humanitarian work since 1996 and I am one of the original board members with Eagle Condor.

I am a plumber by trade and have had my own small plumbing company since 1982.

I have been able to go to South America many times and have been able to help with the construction of many schools, libraries and homes in several countries! 

I have been able to have all of my children and most of my grandchildren go and participate in the work!

I love the people who we have worked with and I really do feel like we have made a big impact on many lives! I feel that everyone is deserving of an education and a great life! I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have been given and for the influence that people of South America have had on my life! I have certainly been blessed because of the experiences that I have had!

Tanya Mealey

Tanya has a profound sense of responsibility to affect change in the world, especially to those who are marginalized.  She believes strongly in educations and enabling self-reliance.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Geography with emphasis in Tourism studies from Brigham Young University.  She has served in numerous roles in her religous services along with community service.  She has been on multiple Humanitarian trips and loves hard work.  Tanya is married to Jym for the last 22 years and have six children.  

Valerie grew up in Kentucky spending the majority of her time outdoors. She has a passion for people, photography and being a mother. Valerie feels Eagle Condor brought all those together when her family went on an expedition to Peru. The whole family walked away from the expedition full of gratitude and the desire for more.  

Terry Lynn Skelton

Mike Taylor

Mike is From Fruit Heights, Utah - is a life long entrepreneur and an outside the box thinker.  

He is a family man first and foremost. Mike and his wife Kim, have four children and four grandchildren.  Mike has mentored and worked with youth his whole life in various capacities. He lived and 

served among the wonderful people of Peru for two years in his youth. He was a Scoutmaster for many years.  Mike loves to travel, be outdoors, and enjoys sports.

 

Carol Nelson

Carol Nelson graduated in Accounting from BYU and received her CPA certificate in 1983. She worked in private accounting and then started her own accounting business in 1999. She has over 30 years experience performing Controller responsibilities for various employers and clients. She and her husband Scott served two missions for the LDS Church in Peru. They spent 8 months in northern Lima, 15 months in the Amazon Jungle in Nauta, a little community located 75 miles south of Iquitos, and 18 months in Tarapoto, Yurimaguas and Moyobamba. They are committed to continuing to serve the people of Peru.

My name is Jorge Luis Sosa Ramirez and I'm a Self-Reliant Trainer with Eagle Condor! Currently I live in Piura, Peru with my wife and two daughters, I like to read, I like ceviche and I love traveling.  Seven years ago I saw an advertisement from an organization needing a facilitator for issues of self-sufficiency, so I applied for this job and after three evaluations and a whole day of interviews I was elected! From that date, I have worked with Eagle Condor, an organization whose mission is to alleviate poverty and strengthen people's abilities so they can achieve economic self-sufficiency.  I feel very grateful and blessed to belong to this organization. I like this work because it allows me to help other people and become a means for their personal progress as well as for the development of communities. I enjoy meeting authorities who are interested in the development of their towns and the many people who have talents, skills and desires to excel. Over the years I have seen many success stories of people who have changed their lives thanks to their effort and the program we share.

Victor Chunga graduated in international business administration from the Peruvian institute of business action IPAE, as a specialist in identification and formulation of public investment projects, accredited by the Faculty of Economics of the UNMSM. He is a specialist in formulation of export business plans, specialized studies in tools of market intelligence by the International Trade Center - ITC. Trained in entrepreneurship development tools EMPRETEC, by UNCTAD, United Nations. He has extensive experience in advising small entrepreneurs in the Piura, Peru region, for public and private sector institutions. Victor has been working with Eagle Condor for 6 years as a Self Reliance Teacher in the Piura area and is very successful in running his own woodworking business.
