Christmas 2020

Family Expedition

Christmas 2020 - New Years 2021

"Each time I am lucky enough to go on an expedition I have the opportunity to connect with those on the expedition with me, to get close to those whom we are serving, to enjoy a richness of culture and most of all an opportunity for personal growth."

-Celeste Bain, Expedition Leader

Report

There was something so sweet and tender  about those we served on  our project, this time. We served a home that housed 52 women and children the world not only forgot but treated cruelly. They have gone through unimaginable trauma. They found a  home and family  at the center called Remar.

Our work felt like a string of small coincidences that gathered together to bring small miracles.: water to their kitchen, a covering to their outdoor dining area, working drain to the kitchen floor and outdoor eating area, tile floor and countertops and healing resources for their trauma, personal hygiene items, toys and warm blankets.

I took home a renewed desire to help those who suffer, who pass through fear and trauma and yet are resilient. I bring home in my mind pictures of smiling faces and kind actions that will motivate me to help those forgotten.

Expeditions truly are a way of helping each other end and overcome the suffering and difficulties in this world.
